Shipping Information
Valued customer, please note that freight shipping companies operate differently from regular shipping companies. Their basic service provides delivery to their local terminal, near (but not at) the customer’s requested address. Residential delivery, delivery to commercial locations without a loading dock, delivery to hard-to-access areas, and unloading from the truck are considered additional services, and extra fees are charged for these services. Unless the lift-gate option (available only for palletized goods; roll goods must be unloaded manually) is selected during a residential or commercial delivery, the receiver (buyer) is responsible for unloading the products from the truck.
Freight lines contact before delivery or for terminal pickup once the product is ready to be delivered or picked up. The buyer must pick up the product from the freight terminal (for terminal pick-up) within 48 hours of it becoming available for pickup. Freight lines may start to charge storage fees after this time (see Special Notes for Terminal Pickup at the bottom of the page for additional details).
The buyer must be available for delivery once an appointment is scheduled. If the buyer is not available for scheduled delivery or the buyer refuses a delivery for any reason, freight companies charge for re-delivery (or the product can be picked up from their terminal for no additional fee).
Unlike regular shipping companies, unpicked or refused shipment returns are not free with freight lines. Lastly, any visible damage to the shipment must be noted on the freight paperwork before the buyer signs and accepts the product.
We highly recommend getting full-value insurance on your delivery. For more information, please refer to the details below.
FREIGHT INFORMATION NOTICE:
UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, FREIGHT IS SHIPPED TO THE DOCK LOCATION NEAREST TO YOU. MATERIAL WILL NEED TO BE PICKED UP AT THE LOCATION PROVIDED.
HOME DELIVERY, LIMITED ACCESS POINT + LIFT GATE ARE AVAILABLE FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE AND SHOULD BE SPECIFIED AT THE TIME YOU ORDER, OTHERWISE THE SERVICE COST MAY INCREASE.
WITH RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS, DELIVERIES WITHOUT LIFTGATE UNLOADING ARE NOT INCLUDED. ALL STANDARD RESIDENTIAL DELIVERIES ARE CURBSIDE DELIVERIES ONLY (WITH OR WITHOUT LIFTGATE). IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE ABLE TO UNLOAD THE GOODS OFF THE FREIGHT CARRIER, FOR HARD SURFACE, CARPET ROLLS, AND CARPET TILE. REQUESTING LIFTGATE ADDS UNLOADING SERVICE, BUT THIS OPTION IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR ROLLED FLOORING.
- Roll Goods - Carpet & Vinyl Flooring - ship by the square yard (default shipping is local freight terminal pickup).
- Wood, Laminate, Tile, etc. - ships on a Pallet by weight. Pallets are not quoted through the shopping cart, as we strive to find you the best shipping rates by working with multiple carriers.
- Some items are available for purchase through the cart; for these items weighing up to 150 lbs, a shipping quote is available in the shopping cart. Otherwise, please call or email for the best freight quote.
Please email or call +1(800) 510-0655 for freight quotes.
note: All freight charges are subject to a minimum charge. These rates do not apply to all areas in the zones. There is an additional charge for home deliveries, which varies by carrier. ($60 - $200) Fuel Surcharges are updated every Tuesday morning. Quotes must be amended.
We exercise great care in preparing your order for shipping. Each roll is individually wrapped and sealed in a strong, weather-tight polyurethane film to ensure added protection during transportation.
When it comes to shipping your carpet, a common carrier is the most economical way. We ship by square yard rates, rather than poundage rates, which are customary in every other part of the country. We will pass our volume shipping rate onto you, our valued customer, for a savings of up to 50%!
Once your order arrives in your area, the carrier will provide a 24- to 48-hour advance call to schedule your delivery or inform the buyer that their product is ready to be picked up from the terminal. You will need someone to help receive your order and remove it from the delivery truck if you have selected residential delivery or commercial delivery without liftgate service. It is your responsibility to inspect the condition and number of pieces and make notations before accepting delivery from the freight line. Please make sure to inspect the delivery carefully (including under plastic wrapping) and note on the freight delivery paperwork any kind of damage visible (including just dents on the box). There could be hidden damage that is not visible at the time of delivery. If you suspect, but cannot be sure of damage, you should mark the paperwork "Suspected Damage - Exact Amount Unknown". There is a 5-day limit on concealed damage being reported to the freight lines.
When in doubt, please call your salesperson before signing. Once delivery has been accepted, you assume all responsibility for the goods received.
Special Note for Terminal Pickup:
Any order that is ordered as terminal pickup needs to be picked up within a certain time frame (the exact time depends on the terminal, freight company, or manufacturer offering this service). If any order is not picked up within the notified time frame, the products will be automatically returned to us, and additional shipping fees will be incurred (paid by the customer unless the return was due to a claim). Additionally, if a customer decides to cancel a returned order from the terminal because it was not picked up within the dedicated timeframe, the order is processed as a simple return. It will be subjected to restocking fees (exact amount depends on the product), and shipping fees are non-refundable.
Shipping or Freight Insurance Information:
Freight/shipping insurance protects the value of the goods in transit. Most shipments include a basic level of carrier liability insurance at no additional cost. This coverage is limited in value and scope. Shipping companies such as UPS and/or FedEx have a flat $100 basic insurance value, and freight companies' coverage is based on weight (this varies from company to company, but the average is $2 a pound). Additionally, basic coverage does not cover acts of God (natural disasters and weather-related events), and the claims process is typically slower.
As a company, we highly recommend getting full-value insurance. Full-value insurance protects against a wider range of risks (including weather-related events), covers the full value of the order, and has a faster claims process.
Please note that we recommend getting full-value insurance. Responsibility for what is not covered by basic insurance falls to the buyer if full-value insurance is not selected/purchased.
