When you look at a tree, whether from the outside or its rings, you notice a lack of symmetry. Instead, multiple organic developments - whether from growth or outside factors - lead to variations in texture, branches pointing in multiple directions and general unevenness.
Somerset strives to capture these attributes with its Classic Collection, a line of Appalachian oak flooring. Milled from domestically grown and harvested Appalachian hardwoods, the Classic Collection is one of the more traditional color palettes that Somerset offers. A closer inspection of each plank reveals a number of natural details - knots emerging, mineral streaks adding contrasts and progressive shifts in grain and color - resulting in little-to-no repetition once displayed over your floors.
Additionally, Somerset intends for the appearance of its hardwood flooring to season and change with both time and exposure to ultraviolet light - a secondary factor attesting to its longevity and overall distinctive character.
These textured hardwood planks come in seven different finishes with a low gloss that will spruce up any area. This collection includes both engineered and solid hardwoods. Planks measure 3 1/4" wide (this same flooring is also available in a 5" wide version; please see Somerset Classic 5" Solid) and vary in length from 10" to 6 ½'. They are ½" thick with a 3 mm wear layer. The Classic Collection is sold by the box. This engineered wood covers 40 square feet and features an Ultimate™ UV-Cured Aluminum Oxide/Urethane finish that aids in durability.
