How Quick-Step EverTEK Engineered Hardwood Is Uniquely Constructed
Quick-Step EverTEK engineered hardwood is designed from the ground up for stability, performance, and long-lasting beauty:
- Multi-Layer Construction with HDF Core: At the heart of EverTEK is a High-Density Fiberboard (HDF) core, a precision-manufactured engineered wood layer that provides exceptional strength, dimensional stability, and resistance to everyday stress. The HDF core helps the floor resist expansion and contraction from humidity and temperature changes better than traditional plywood cores, delivering consistent performance throughout your home.
- Real Hardwood Wear Layer: EverTEK features a real hardwood veneer on top, giving you the authentic look and warmth of solid wood while maintaining the enhanced stability of engineered flooring. This top layer is finished and protected to resist wear and maintain its look over time.
- WetProtect® TEKnology: Quick-Step’s patented WetProtect® TEKnology adds advanced moisture protection at the joints and throughout the board. This system helps prevent spills and surface moisture from penetrating below the surface and reaching the subfloor, making it one of the most water-resistant engineered hardwood floors available.
- EverLast® TEKnology: EverTEK is finished with EverLast® TEKnology, a durable surface protection system that stands up to everyday wear, scratches, and surface abrasion. This finish extends the life of your floor and keeps it looking beautiful even in high-traffic areas.
Together, the HDF core, real wood veneer, and Quick-Step’s patented technologies make EverTEK engineered hardwood both beautiful and built to last, offering stability, moisture resistance, and everyday durability that outperform many traditional hardwoods.
How to Install Quick-Step EverTEK Engineered Hardwood
Quick-Step EverTEK is designed for an easy floating click-lock installation, making it a popular choice for both professionals and experienced DIYers. The planks lock together without glue or nails and float over the subfloor, allowing for natural expansion and contraction. Before installation, the flooring should be acclimated in the room for 48–72 hours, and the subfloor should be clean, dry, and level.
Most installations require only basic tools, including:
- Measuring tape and pencil
- Spacers for expansion gaps
- Tapping block, pull bar, and rubber mallet
- Utility knife or flooring saw
A moisture barrier may be recommended depending on your subfloor type.

Quick-Step EverTEK and Engineered Hardwood Flooring FAQs
What are engineered hardwoods?
Engineered hardwood floors are made of a real wood veneer layer bonded atop multiple layers of plywood or high-density fiberboard. This layered construction gives added dimensional stability over solid wood, making it suitable for a variety of indoor environments where moisture and temperature can vary.
Is engineered hardwood better than hardwood?
“Better” depends on your needs. Engineered hardwood offers greater stability in moisture-prone areas (like basements or over concrete) and tends to resist cupping and warping better than solid hardwood. Traditional solid hardwood can be refinished more times, but engineered hardwood delivers excellent performance and aesthetic appeal for most residential settings.
What are the disadvantages of engineered hardwood?
Some engineered hardwood floors can have thinner top wood layers than solid floors, limiting how many times they can be refinished. Also, lower-quality engineered wood can vary in moisture resistance and wear layer durability, so it’s important to choose a high-performance product like Quick-Step EverTEK that includes advanced protections.
Can you mop an engineered floor?
Yes, but you should avoid soaking the floor. Use a damp (not wet) microfiber mop and a cleaner recommended for hardwood floors. Liquids should never be left to sit, as excessive moisture over time can damage wood flooring. Quick-Step EverTEK’s WetProtect technology helps block moisture at joints, but good cleaning practices still matter.
Fashion is not the only benefit of Anso nylon carpet, it comes in a veritable plethora of colors, textures and styles.
Being green is becoming a hot button topic in all manufacturing these days, so I think it is appropriate to touch on Shaw’s procedures for staying green. Shaw owns a top of the line and up to date recycling facility for carpet. This plant is actually capable of recycling carpet to make into new carpet. While it doesn’t seem like it is doing much it is. This plant literally saves over 100 million pounds of carpet from winding up in a landfill every year. That is a lot!
5 Reasons to Choose Anso Nylon Carpet by Shaw
It’s Tough as Nails
Shaw Anso nylon is absolutely soft and comfortable, but believe it or not, comfort isn’t its strongest front. This is hard to believe if you feel the carpet because it seems as if it was made for comfort. The truth is however, it has been engineered to last longer than others. This is thanks to the nylon 6 fibers that Anso is known for, bumping its toughness level up 20% more than competitor carpets while showing less wear overtime.
Stain and Soil Resistant
Because of Shaw’s patented R2x technology, which is a treatment that is applied to the carpet during manufacturing, it has the ability to repel dirt and soil. This is great news for anyone who is a little accident prone or messy at times. This added stain and soil resistance allows Shaw Anso nylon owners the luxury of a better overall warranty.
Resilient like the Dickens
Resiliency is all about maintaining its original shape, and Anso doesn’t disappoint as a leading fiber. It keeps its shape even after heavy furniture has been resting on it for months. Just swoosh it around or vacuum and it is back to its original shape.
Environmentally Friendly
We touched on the environmental aspect earlier, but being such an important topic merits a rehash. This carpet fiber was engineered to being recycled. Anso nylon contains post consumer carpet, making it incredibly resourceful and practical. It is SCS certified with 25% recycled content.
A Trusted Carpet Brand
Shaw has remained at the top of the flooring food chain for many years. Innovative practices and stream-lined manufacturing procedures have marked it a pack leader in the wilds of the carpet industry.
