Brazilian Chestnut is a beautiful exotic hardwood flooring species, that will look amazing in any area. Brazilian Chestnut flooring ranges in color from suede to chocolate brown. It has a grain pattern and texture similar to that of red oak, but just a bit finer. On the Janka Hardness Scale it scores a 3540. It is moderately difficult for some machines and saws to work with because of its high density. Almost as dense as Ipe, Brazilian Hardwood Flooring is excellent for high traffic or commercial areas because of the resistance to indentations, scratches and marring. As well as being durable, it is also resistant to fungi, rot/decay, insects, warping, bending and twisting, and fire.
