The sapwood of this beautiful Tigerwood Hardwood Flooring is brown-white to dirty gray in color, while the heartwood is reddish-brown to light golden-brown. It has a mottled, wavy or interlocked, irregular grain. It has a medium to dull luster and is very fine in texture.
Tigerwood Hardwood Flooring is highly durable with a high resistance to beetles. The wood remains dimensionally stable and is reported to have no odor.. On the Janka Hardness Scale it scores a 1850. As a flooring option, tigerwood is one of the harder and more durable woods, falling between the hardness of hickory and pecan.
Tigerwood can be difficult to saw and requires a carbide-tipped blade. Pre-boring is suggested, yet the wood holds nails well once applied. Tigerwood Hardwood Flooring is absolutely beautiful to look at.
