Anything Goes! carpets were originally developed in 1981 to address the number-one complaint concerning carpet performance -- matting and crushing. Backed by the strongest warranty protection available, Anything Goes! Carpets are guaranteed by ShawMark to resist matting and crushing due to twist lost for a full five or ten years, depending on the particular Anything Goes! style.

All carpets look alike. What makes Anything Goes! different?

Filament Cross Section
The cross section is the shape of the individual filament used to create the yarn. The Anything Goes! cross section is a unique, compact delta shape with virtually no indentations, and has been used in the manufacture of the original Anything Goes! styles from the beginning. The solid delta shape offers modest bulking characteristics but exceptional resistance to packing and crushing.

Twist Level
The more twist, the stronger the yarn but the smaller the circumference. Less twist means the yarn is bulkier, but it has less resistance to packing and crushing. *The yarn used in the manufacture of Anything Goes! originals is unique yarn and is used only with these carpets. AG! uses the optimal level of twist to achieve excellent performance.

*Continuous Filament Yarn

Applies to selected
Anything Goes! styles.

T & T Formula (Time and Temperature)
Next to the importance of the cross section, the T&T factor could be the most critical. The twist level is important, but the temperature and time spent in the heat-setting step will significantly influence the final result. You might compare the whole procedure to baking a cake. You put three ingredients into your "cake": proper yarn cross section, twist level, and filament type. After "mixing" your ingredients, your cake goes into an oven at a precise temperature and for a certain period of time. If you apply the wrong numbers, your cake could be a disaster!

Since heat, electricity, and time are all factors in the cost of the finished carpet, there can be a tendency to run the carpet through the oven in the fastest possible time at the lowest possible heat-setting temperature. This is obviously not the case with Anything Goes! carpets. As with the formula for making Coca-Cola, which is known to only a handful of people, the T&T formula for Anything Goes! is one of ShawMark's best-kept secrets.

The Anything Goes! manufacturing "recipe" is indeed unique - unique ingredients with unique manufacturing procedures.
